Rhodonite is a manganese inosilicate, (Mn, Fe, Mg, Ca)SiO₃and member of the pyroxenoid group of minerals, crystallizing in the triclinic system.

It works beneficially on the heart chakra, opening one to unconditional love and increased service to mankind. It is a stone of inner growth as well, and helps with self-love. Rhodonite is also a calming stone, with energies used for easing anger as well as calming stress and anxiety.

Rhodonite is an uncommon mineral. It is found in a few small deposits across the world. Sources of rhodonite include: Russia, Canada, Australia, Brazil, Sweden, Peru, and England. In the United States it has been found in North Carolina, Colorado, New Jersey, and has been named as the state gem of Massachusetts.
